Some notes about moving to Ireland
The capital city of Ireland is Dublin. It is home to Guiness, Kilkenny and the river Liffey. Ireland is famous for its rolling green hills and beautiful countryside, quaint cottages and winding roads.
Getting prepared for any international move is always a busy time, so it's handy to know a little bit about where you are moving to if it's a new adventure for you.

Living permits
All non-EEA nationals need permission to remain in Ireland, which will be in the form of an endorsement in your passport confirming the conditions and period of time for which you have permission to remain in the State. Your permission should never be allowed to lapse and the onus is on you to ensure that this does not happen. You should apply to the Registration Officer responsible for the area in which you reside in good time to have your permission to remain in the State extended.
Becoming a citizen in Ireland
People who were born outside Ireland but have Irish citizens as either one of both of their parents at the time of your birth are able to get Irish Citizenship. You will also qualify for Irish Citizenship if you were born there, are married to an Irish citizen or by residence. Citizenship involves a number of administration points and specific qualificiation will be dependent upon your individual circimstances. For more information, you can contact the Irish Immigration Service about their requirements.

All new motor vehicles and vehicles that are brought into Ireland are subject to a Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) and must be registered with the Revenue Commissioners.
